Ross 11 Months!

It is hard for me to think that in a month my little man will be ONE! This year has gone by so quickly and I am glad to have the summer time to spend with him and soak up every once of 'baby' time with him.

Ross is definitely a momma's boy and even more so now that I am able to be home with him.  He is definitely a boy on the move and into EVERYTHING! This weekend we are having to Ross-proof everything. Probably the most disgusting of his obsessions: the toliet! He loves the thing so I found myself cleaning it and him like a crazy woman. Loves to flush it - yep. Loves to undo the entire toliet paper roll - yep. Loves to lift the seat and splash in the water - oh yeah!

Ross isn't walking yet but he cruises on everything.  We are hoping he will be walking for his birthday {we have a little something special for him for his birthday and fingers & toes crossed he will be able to walk to do it!}  My man eats everything so he is extremely heathly and already wearing 2T.  My mother-in-law told me at my baby shower that my husband was the same way!

My man is still on a super schedule and am not sure sure I want to give up the 2 naps a day when he turns 1.  Here we are on a run to Hobby Lobby - he looks like a frat daddy with his collar popped!

Happy 11th Month Razor!

The best Ice Cream in the country!

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for Ice Cream! Today we and some great friends of ours loaded up the car with ice cream books, snacks, and iphones and headed about an hour and half down the road to Brenham.  We took the kiddos to the Blue Bell Creamery to see how ice cream is made and packaged.
We raced there to make sure we weren't late for our tour... but we were anyway so we caught the next tour.  While we waited we checked out some of the antique ice cream displays.

Outside their was an antique ice ceam delivery car that we hitched a ride on.  There were no cameras allowed on the tour... can't let the ice cream secrets out.  We did learn some interesting  facts on the tour
like Homemade Vanilla is the only flavor made everyday, all the other flavors are made on certain days.  They only make 6 flavors a day!!  Also it takes 60,000 cows to produce the amount of milk for one day of production!
And the best part of the tour - After the tour we got to eat ice cream! Yummy!

Both Merritt and T chose Rainbow Sherbet while the mommies got cookies & cream and Buttered Pecan. Did I already say Yum?!

After the gift shop, we headed out to grab some lunch - What a fun day with our friends!!

Prima Ballerina

I have been looking fowarding to this day since the moments right after I found out we were having a girl... Her first day of dance class!
I danced my way through life from the age of 5 on.  Memories of my childhood revolve around dance and I still to this day remember most of the performances and songs I danced to.  If I was at school, I was dancing and after school my sweet dad would take me to the dance studio and set up a table and tv in his minivan and grade his students' papers.  So today was one of the happiest since Merritt came into our lives and there was no way I was sitting in the car waiting.

Merritt outside the studio

Merritt was so excited about dance class that she woke up at 6:30am ready to dance for her 11am class.

Tap Time!

First the class started with tap and some started moves; heel, brush, point. And of course a crazy stomp after each step!

Ballet Beauty!
After tap, all the girls changed into their ballet shoes and and learned first and second position and plies.

During ballet the girls got to dance with scarves and wands. They also practiced walking with beanbags on their heads.

After dance, we came home and worked on our Ballerina Unit.
My hope is that Merritt will grow to love dance!
